The 16/10 aspect makes more of a difference (vice 16/9) than I imagined; it makes the monitor appear larger than it is. The narrow bezel makes it easy to fully appreciate the clarity and COLOR DEPTH of this screen. The fact that all 4 ports of the built-in USB hub are 3.0 ports -- and one of them is a charging port is an additional bonus. The monitor includes BOTH standard and mini display port cables which means it can be used out of the box with a macbook, as well as a P.C. Simply an OUTSTANDING BUY.
I was sent a slightly different monitor model than the one shown.
The one shown uses a standard PC power cable.
The monitor I was sent, uses a grounded laptop style power cord. IEC320 C5 to NEMA 5-15P
The display port cables were not included. It included a VGA cable. This monitor doesn't even have VGA ports. Who checks these things?
I don't have an extra power cord to test.
What a waste of time.
Update 2021-09-07
Seller sent out the proper cables.
Testing it out and it seems fine.
One thing, the vender made a comment about me writing bad reviews, did not sit well with me.
and I quote, "We found that you write a lot of negative feedback for all sellers. We look forward to talking to you."
I write many positive reviews.
I tell it like it is with a product.
If it's great, I will tell you.
If a product fails in a month, I tell it like it is.
If something is missing, I tell it like it is.
It's what the vendor does on the support side that matters to me and many others.
The unfortunate part is that I got the monitor on a Thursday and didn't have the proper IEC320 C5 to NEMA 5-15P on hand or extra DP cables, to test until I received on Tuesday. So for me, having to wait the extra 5 days for everything was inconvenient.
In the end, the monitor seems to work and goes well with my DELL U2415 of the same spec's.
DP daisy chaining seems to work as well.
I would order another one to have on hand, but the price just went up, so I may hold off.
I'm personally one of those that did not appreciate the migration to 16:9. At 1080 vertical, it's always just a little too short for my spreadsheet work or displaying just a little too few tracks in OBS or Audacity. I was actually looking for a beyond Ultra wide monitor, but they are mostly 1080p - which wouldn't offer any vertical advantage over Full HD. I had found a few with 1200 or 1440, and I almost made the plunge - but stopped short of hitting the order button. A few of them made it into the cart, but something wasn't quite right - and it had to do with the price. I was wondering if I could do better by ordering 2 monitors - even though there would be the bezel in the middle.
After searching around for a while, I found two monitor models on Amazon that fit the bill, this one - if I ordered them used for under $100 or a slightly smaller Acer that cost a little more. Three of these would give me vertical real estate I wanted, but would actually give me more real estate horizontally. Two of these monitors have the same real estate as one of the ultrawides and 3 of them have more. The icing on the cake was that the cost of 3 of these monitors was less than half of the price of the least expensive ultrawide monitor I could find that had the resolution I wanted.
Pamper Inn shipped them all out the same day. I had never ordered something that had one main tracking number with 3 separate boxes. Two of them arrived they day before the earliest arrival date and the last one arrived 2 days later. They all worked and the plethora of ports on the back of these is awesome. It tells me how long I've been out of the monitor game. DP in and out plus HDMI - but missing the VGA port on every single monitor I've owned before this. A USB 3.0 hub and also a sound card. I have never had this much connectivity on any monitor I've ever owned. I didn't even own any USB 3.0 printer cables and ordered 10 from Amazon - but they sent USB 2.0 LOL - the vendor blamed Amazon Warehouse for the goof up and I'm still trying to resolve that issue.
The USB hub works fine with 2.0 cables, but I'm actually interested in setting up 3.0. The device manager on my laptop sees all 3 sound cards on all the monitors. My laptop only had only 1 HDMI and a thunderbolt port for video outs, so I ordered a dock that had two DP ports. I was disappointed to find out that the combination of my laptop and the dual DP dock would only allow one active DP on the dock. But - what I did find out was that if I daisy chained the three monitors with DP, that I could have all 3 monitors active at 1200p60Hz and to boot - was able to use the HDMI out on the laptop to also have a 4K@60p on another monitor. Granted, I'm not a gamer and only doing this for productivity and content creation, but I'm stoked that I can have a full 4 monitor setup all at 60Hz with 3 of these at 1200p and a 4th at 4K. I'm expecting that if I open up the laptop, that it would use the internal display. giving me 5 monitors - but I'm not going to bother. I got these monitors because I was tired of having to move back and forth every time I needed to read smaller text on the screen.
The 3 monitors had different hours on time. around 600, 1200, and 2400. Each on it's own is great to look at. What I noticed is that the white is not the same on all 3 at default, probably due to the different hours of use. When the 3 additional monitors come, I'm going to see if I can daisy chain all 6 of them, but I doubt it. What I'm going to do is have 2 3-monitor setups on different floors. I'll match the screens up as close as possible and hope that they are close enough and distrusted in a way where I can find 2 sets of 3 that match. The differing whites on the 3 monitors is the sole reason for the deduction of one star.
For under $100, these are awesome monitors and worth very penny. The selection of monitors that aren't 16:9 or any kind of 1080p are difficult to come by - let alone for under $100. Finding all these ports on a monitor is also almost impossible at this price range. Just be aware that if you are using these in a multi-monitor setup, that they might differ in their whites - (hence all colors) out of the box even when all are factory reset.
To attest to enthusiasm of my recommendation of these from Pamper Inn, keep in my mind that after ordering and receiving 3, that I ordered 3 more.
Comes with AC cable, DVI-to-DVI cable, and a plastic cover over the DP out port. No other cables included and the AC cable was rather short - 2 feet or less on 2/3 monitors. Unusual and not useful for me - but I also understood these to be used and not unexpected. I had to provide my own DP cables and longer power cables and the included DVI and shorted power cables went into the ever growing hoard of random cables.
Update 1-20-22: After owning 6 of these for just short of 2-years, I can say these are wonderful for what I do. Specifically, they are awesome for productivity (Office Apps) and video editing. The 60 Hz refresh rate works very well for these purposes. I can only imagine that these aren't being scalped and gouged because gamers need a higher refresh rate and wider view - and pass on these. Every now and again, when I am passing DP from one monitor to another - the 2nd monitor stops working. It's very rare - maybe once every year, which is why I forget the solution. The solution is to disconnect the malfunctioning monitor physically from the power - pulling the power cable out from the wall, then putting it back in. Powering down with the power button does not solve the problem. Since the migration to mostly remote for me - I have stopped using laptops and instead, use the enterprise desktop solutions with 2 DP built into the back. One DP feeds one of these monitors. The other DP feeds another monitor and is daisy chained into a 3rd. I'm able to get 3 x 1920 x 1200 monitors with this setup, with the caveat that the last daisy chained monitor loses connectivity once a year -and is corrected for another year by disconnecting the power cable from the monitor then reconnecting.
I spend lot of time (3 years) looking for the best polyvalent monitor for my needs : 24 inch, 16/10 ratio (the best ratio), plenty of connection option, Picture in Picture mode and duplicate screen mode available without spend too much for a professionnal monitor or a bigger one, beautiful with good color calibration, USB 3.0. This monitor is perfect as it has everything I want and suits to my all needs : work (writing), game, entertainment. It is well build, sturdy and doesn't feel cheap.
I think I need another one.
