Low Blue Light Technology to Help Protect Your EyesLow Blue Light Technology is designed to filter out harmful blue light, effectively diminishing eye fatigue and irritation. This monitor has built-in speakers and puts out reasonable sound. However, it has no headphones audio jack that I can find to divert sound to external speakers. Perhaps plugging external speakers into Pi's audio jack will work, while simultaneously using its HDMI output. I have not bothered to test that possibility as yet, as I am perfectly comfortable with its built-in speakers.
Very light. Comes with nice slip cover than is intended as packaging material, but I use as a slip cover, when not using monitor or moving it. Monitor can be made portable by using any kind of simple carrying case; and removing its base foot, which comes off fairly easily by unscrewing a thumb screw, although not its stem, but nonetheless still makes portability possible.
NOTE1: Removing the stem instead of the base foot would be better for portability. However, I found the stem does not come off easily by pressing its inset release button with a small tool, because it is VERY resistant to sliding out of its slot. I don't try that any more out of fear of damaging the stem. Perhaps some lubricant would help. Have not tried that.
NOTE2: The Pi 3 B natively puts out a perfect 1080p (Full HD) signal via its HDMI output socket. On my giant TV monitor the Pi's output looks amazing, but on my 22" BenQ it looks very good also. I have seen the Pi's output on lower resolution monitors (like 720p), which can of course be obtained for less money. Don't bother, and don't be tricked. Many cheap lower resolution monitors are available on Amazon, but they can be vague about their resolutions. So, study the monitor's specs carefully. It took me weeks of careful study of over 100 monitors to settle on the BenQ. The Pi's output looks poor by comparison at lower resolutions. I recommend using the Pi's native full HD 1080p resolution. You will be glad you spent the extra money on a supporting monitor.
I have had this monitor for over a month now and can overwhelmingly say it is a high performing monitor at a great value. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a moderately sized monitor with many options at an affordable price. Another mentionable characteristic of this monitor, and a selling point for me, is the anti-glare screen. With lots of ambient light in my office my previous gloss screen was distracting and sometimes problematic. The BenQ screen solves that by providing a matte surface that can be viewed throughout the day.
There are many fine tunings available using the back of the screen controls. The low-blue light mode seems to work well. A person can quickly toggle modes. That said, I have found the settings that work for me and I leave them be.
Overall, great monitor, great value. Would purchase again.
Pros:
-Fairly light weight.
-Decent brightness levels.
-Easy options to turn on reading modes and lessen blue light (though you can do it on Windows 10 through night light).
-Colors seem pretty good, though I'm not using these for media production.
-Speakers are just an extra when it comes to computer monitors. Handy to have if you don't have any speakers or just needed to test some sound.
-Bezels are fairly small. Not distracting at all.
Cons:
-Speaker quality is not great, but that's expected. Can't really max them out without distortion.
-Menu navigation make it a little hard to adjust brightness quickly, but that's just a nitpick.
Other thoughts:
For clarity, the 22 inch model I have is GW2270HM but there's a FHD and a VA version. The FHD model does not have a HDMI port or integrated speakers. As to my knowledge, the model number is the same for both versions. But on my actual monitor, it says HDMI in the bezels.
I like this because it's light weight, thin, flicker free, 1080p, and just simply looks good to the eye. The purple BenQ logo on startup is kind of "eh", but it's not a big deal. Would definitely recommend these to anyone, whether FHD or VA version. I only got the VA version for just-in-case scenarios I needed sound without having to carry speakers or headphones around or I happened to be moving the monitors around.

But setup is a little mystifying for the person like me, who only gets a new monitor once every few years.
The thing to be aware of is that you control setup with the semi-circular buttons at the bottom right of the monitor, not your keyboard.
A final piece of advice. Try to have another device around where you can search on the internet in case of problems. If you simply disconnect your old monitor (or this is your initial monitor) thinking setup will be a breeze, you might have to suffer a little before you get things going.
If you're a tech whiz, or it IS a breeze, good for you. But if you want to save some potential grief, better to be safe than sorry.
This is a very good monitor given the price tag. It offers variety of preset modes allowing you to adjust the rendering clarity and colour temperature accordingly. While it cannot be considered as a "pro" device for reasons such as display technology and colour gamut (typical for this product segment), it offers a very compelling value proposition for people who want something that is reliable and flawless for regular work/play stuff. The built-in speakers are not too bad, especially when limited space is of your consideration.
What really stands out is the clarity of text rendering. Great for coding those long hours. This monitor is an excellent choice.
I am an extremely satisfied user and I can highly recommend this product.
